Marina di Patti is situated in a tranquil gulf of clear blue sea, surrounded by mountainous countryside. The gulf is a warm and safe community of friendly people in a small center of fishing, boating, swimming, and water sports. Nearby, from the hills above town to the sea, there is hang gliding. The principal centre above the Marina is Patti (15.000 inhabitants), which has a Norman Cathedral and typical medieval streets in the oldest part. From Patti Marina you can see and visit (by boat trip) the Aeolian Islands- Lipari, which is the largest; Vulcano, Salina, Stromboli, Panarea, Filicudi ad Alicudi. Local points of interest -archeological: (300 mt) a newly discovered site, "Villa Romana", IV Century AD, with mosaics. Also, Tindari (9 Km ) is a Greco-Roman archaeological site with an ancient Theatre that still produces serious entertainment in summer months.
